Belgrade Fair 2024, Serbia ‐ new technologies in the Balkans

The 66th edition of the International Trade Fair for Technology and Technical Achievements took place in Belgrade from 21-24 May 2024. This is one of the oldest and most important industrial events in the Balkans, which for decades has acted as a bridge between South-Eastern Europe and international markets. The Belgrade exhibition centre once again opened its halls and outdoor spaces to companies representing the full spectrum of technologies and solutions for industry.

Scale of the event and nature of the visitors

The fair brought together around 500 exhibitors, including more than 200 from abroad - representatives of nearly 30 countries. On an area of more than 15 000 m², the latest solutions in the field of metalworking, automation, machinery and production equipment were presented. The event was visited by some 20,000 people, a large proportion of whom were engineers, production managers and decision-makers responsible for investments in their companies.

Main thematic emphases and innovations

Belgrade Fair 2024 was a venue dominated by talks about automating industrial processes, increasing production efficiency and implementing modern technologies to support Industry 4.0.

Exhibitors showcased both heavy metalworking machinery and precision tools, components and supporting software. Solutions to improve energy efficiency and sustainability were also an important theme, responding to global environmental challenges.

Trade fair atmosphere and meeting dynamics

There was an atmosphere of openness and readiness to network at the stands. Many exhibitors prepared live demonstrations, which allowed visitors to see the operation of modern machinery and equipment in practice.

Talks were not only about sales, but also about opportunities for partnerships and technology transfer. Belgrade, as the booming capital of the region, also attracted visitors from neighbouring countries, which further emphasised the international nature of the event.

Summary and outlook for the future

Belgrade Fair 2024 confirmed that the Balkan region is becoming an increasingly important point on the map of European industry. The event provided exhibitors with valuable contacts and visitors with knowledge of the latest trends and technological opportunities. The Belgrade Fair is not only an opportunity to showcase products, but above all a platform for the exchange of experiences that supports the development of the entire sector in this part of Europe.
