The ROMER modular furnace system for polymerisation and powder drying combines electric, oil and gas heat sources with touchscreen control, USB logger and optional online diagnostics; with forced or gravity air circulation, robust insulation and ATEX protection, it provides energy-efficient, uniform annealing and flexible heating and cooling tunnel configurations.
Made in Romer
Bottom tank made of chemical-resistant plastic, equipped with a simple grease and sediment separator. Facilitates the disposal of used liquid and protects the system against clogging. Capacity: 25 litres.
All furnaces feature touchscreen computerised control panels and a two-channel USB logger with full cycle history. Internet diagnostics and updates and utility meters are also available on selected models.
ROMER offers ovens with a variety of heat sources: electric heating elements (including high-efficiency Swiss heaters), oil and gas burners, and even special heaters and ceramics in high-temperature versions (up to 600 °C).
Forced air circulation through the walls and floor guarantees an even temperature distribution. Other models, however, use a gravity heating system, reducing operating costs while maintaining a temperature uniformity of ±5 °C.
Wall thicknesses range from 80 mm (basic models) to 460 mm (oil/gas models), minimising heat loss. The modular tunnel or cooling furnace is constructed from removable panels, allowing the length and width of the installation to be varied as desired.
Some versions (e.g. ATEX) have explosion-proof closures, silicone door seals and optional stainless steel components in the most important parts of the chamber to enable operation in explosive atmospheres.
Depending on the type, furnaces can use a gravity or forced air circulation system. The gravity versions, despite the absence of fans, provide very good temperature uniformity - up to ±5°C - thanks to the precise positioning of the heating elements. In addition, the heaters used are characterised by high thermal efficiency and rapid energy transfer, allowing heating rates of up to 8°C per minute. Optimum insulation and the lack of direct contact between the chamber and the housing minimise heat loss and increase the energy efficiency of the unit.
The furnace control system allows full programming of the start-up time - e.g. automatic switch-on at 6am before the start of the shift. This allows the heating process to start without operator intervention, saving time and increasing cycle repeatability.
The use of an automatic smoke chimney and a self-latching door increases user safety and improves the operation of the cooker. The chimney activates only when needed and the door locking mechanism prevents the door from opening accidentally while the appliance is in operation.
The furnaces can be equipped with a multi-zone heating system, which allows the temperature in different parts of the chamber to be controlled independently. This configuration allows workpieces of varying weights and geometries to be fired evenly.
The advanced design of the cookers includes the MTS system - the installation of heating elements without creating thermal bridges. In combination with a heat exchanger and additional heat hoods, this solution significantly improves energy efficiency and reduces the time to reach the set temperature.
The built-in iCure logger allows accurate monitoring of all process parameters: temperature, time, events and alarms. Data can be exported to reports, supporting quality control and process analysis.
In ECO mode, the cookers go into a low energy consumption state when not actively used. This, combined with combustion optimisation, can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.
The use of a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) system allows infinite adjustment of the fan depending on the current conditions in the chamber. This not only increases operating comfort, but also reduces electricity consumption.
Some kilns are equipped with a movable baffle that allows the chamber to be divided into two independent zones. This allows simultaneous drying and firing in the same unit, increasing production flexibility.
The integrated inspection glass and LED lighting in the chamber allow a real-time view of the process without having to open the door. In addition, the chamber ventilation system enables rapid cooling of the oven or air exchange without interrupting operation.
A programmable heat hood activated only during loading reduces temperature loss, and automatic slat entry significantly facilitates the handling of items on the slides. These are solutions that improve ergonomics and loading efficiency.
